Yes! You can download the complete catalogue of our trial fonts → here. Our trial fonts are to be used for evaluation purposes only, meaning that you can test them in your font software but the full version has to be purchased once the work is no longer in the trial realm.

Please notice that every typeface in Cracel Type’s catalogue can be tested in our online font tester. Every font has its own online font tester that will enable you to test any of our fonts with your own custom text and in the size that you choose, to ensure that it is what you will exactly need for your typographic needs.

We chose the OpenType (OTF) format for fonts in our Desktop license for the following reasons:
OpenType features are supported by most desktop applications. It is also a format that enables smaller font sizes. Also, OpenType format enables advanced typographic features that allow for inclusion of multiple alternate shapes, small caps, ligatures and more into one single font file.

OpenType format facilitates a nearly unlimited character set that is based on the International Unicode encoding standard, providing enhanced linguistic support. Lastly, this format is a cross-platform font file that can be used on both Windows and Apple platforms.

The answer is No, unfortunately!
Our Desktop licence, as the name implies, gives you the licence to install and use our font files on a desktop computer. Once our fonts are installed on your desktop computer, you may use them in DTP software such as Adobe Indesign or other types of editing software.

If you wish to use our fonts on your website, app or ePub, you need a separate licence. You can know more about our licences → here.

Yes, you can. You can use our font’s OTF files to integrate them into your PDF generated files, for presentation purposes or sending designs to a prepress/printer for output or other production development, as long as:

The fonts are SUBSET when embedded in the document.
The document is set as NON-EDITABLE.
You DO NOT embed the fonts or use rasterised images of the entire character set, comprising the Font Software.
You shall ensure that the embedded fonts in the document cannot be extracted in any way.

Our licences are permanent once purchased.
However, during the purchase process, you will need to select options based on your specific needs, including the number of computers, web page views, domains, and app/ePub titles.
Please ensure that you choose the correct licence and options that align with your requirements at the time of purchase.

Yes, Cracel Type offers additional licences beyond the three options available online, including:

Broadcast
For use in films, videos, television, commercials, or broadcasts via cable, cinema, or the internet.
OEM
Embedding fonts in software applications (e.g., user interfaces, video games), hardware (e.g., smartphones), or digital products (e.g., apps or software that you sell or distribute).
Server
Installing fonts on a server to allow remote users to generate PDFs, text, personalised graphics, and other content.
Alphabet and Merchandise
For creating alphabet or letterform-related products intended for resale or alphabet or letterform-creation products or devices.
Enterprise
Offers extensive usage rights with no limits on the number of computers, website views, or app/e-book downloads.

All payments made through the Cracel Type website are facilitated by Stripe, one of the world’s largest and leading e-commerce payment providers. Stripe allows you to make your payment through Apple Pay, through a credit card or a debit card, according to your convenience.

If you wish to pay with a bank transfer (bank wires), we can accommodate such a request only for bigger amount payment. Bank transfers aren’t an automated process and hence take time, typically a few days, before they are processed and approved. Please get in touch with us and we will walk you through the process of paying with a bank transfer. We do not accept cheques at Cracel Type.

All payments processed through Cracel Type website are denominated in EUR. If you are paying with another currency, your bank may charge you a conversion fee, a fee that shall be borne by you.

Your credit card, or debit card information is securely processed through Stripe, one of the world’s leading e-commerce payment providers. Stripe uses advanced encryption and security protocols to protect your data.

As Cracel Type's payment platform provider, Stripe is a validated PCI Service Provider Level 1 compliant service, ensuring the highest standards of security. Additionally, Stripe Terminal is certified to EMVCo Level 1 and 2 standards of EMV® Specifications, meeting rigorous requirements for card and terminal security and interoperability. Stripe’s systems, processes, and controls undergo regular audits as part of their SOC 1 and SOC 2 compliance programs.

Cracel Type has no direct or indirect access to your sensitive payment information processed through Stripe.

Certainly. As soon as you make a purchase, a detailed invoice is automatically generated and instantly sent to the email address that you provided during your checkout process.

Yes. VAT is applicable on all Cracel Type products, in the following manner(s):

A VAT charge of 23%* for businesses in PT
A VAT charge of 0%* for EU businesses with a registered tax ID
A VAT charge of 23%* for individuals (not businesses) residing in PT or EU
A VAT charge of 0%* for businesses in rest of the world (i.e. Non PT and Non EU countries)

*VAT Charges indicated above are current charges as applicable in August, 2024.

During the checkout process, you will be provided with an option to enter your country of residence and also be provided with an option to buy as an individual or a business. Once you provide these inputs, your VAT charges are automatically computed and the checkout price shall be updated accordingly.

If you are a business in the EU, please provide your valid VAT number as it will allow you to avoid paying the current PT VAT rate of 23%.

Unfortunately, we cannot refund font purchases at Cracel Type.
Before making a purchase, we strongly recommend that you double and triple check the selected items in your cart, to ensure that you are only buying the typefaces you absolutely need.

Certainly! Once you decide to purchase the full family of one of our typefaces after having previously bought a lone single weight, just let us know and we will promptly contact you in order to exclude the price you paid for that single weight purchase in the regular full family cost.
